Petra Linden, RN, MS
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Petra Linden has been involved with human trafficking prevention and response work for many years both across the country and internationally. In Stockton, California she led a coalition of healthcare providers to develop human trafficking response programs in local hospitals. Internationally she developed an online training module on human trafficking for physicians in India and leads training teams of physicians and healthcare personnel. She has also volunteered with Free the Slaves to support Indian nonprofits by providing training, evaluation, and strategic planning.
Currently she guides the community health portion of CommonSpirit Health’s Violence and Human Trafficking Prevention & Response Program. Through her role on the system-wide Human Trafficking Steering Committee, Petra is also coordinating efforts to address forced labor in the healthcare supply chain. As a volunteer she serves as the parent adviser for the Kids' Freedom Club—a group of children and youth working to raise awareness, funding, and advocacy to address this issue. Her hope is that by working together we can protect vulnerable communities from exploitation and prevent slavery in the world.
